Dental Assistants: The doctors and the assistants work as a team to provide each patient with the best possible care.

Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. They work chair-side as dentists examine and treat patients. They make patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and obtain their dental records. Assistants hand instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices.

We have two of the best! Dr. Hays' Assistant is (right) Marion who has been working with Dr. Hays for 8 years and enjoys being part of Riverglen Dental Group.

Dr. Folk's assistant is (left) Gloria who enjoys getting to know her patients and takes a special interest in their care.

Dental Hygienists remove soft and hard deposits from teeth, teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, and provide other preventive dental care. Hygienists examine patients’ teeth and gums, recording the presence of diseases or abnormalities. They remove calculus, stains, and plaque from teeth; perform root planing as a periodontal therapy; take and develop dental x rays; and apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluorides.

The heart of the office is the "front desk!" These three ladies make sure appointments are scheduled, records are maintained and paperwork is kept up to date. Our Office Manager, Michelle guides the process and everyone agrees nothing would get done without them.
